Anyone done the Boeing factory tour in Seattle?
I went back in 2002 and really enjoyed it. It's quite amazing to see a whole row of planes lined up inside a building! Boeing also have a Museum of Flight in Seattle, which is good. I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
As others have said, Mt St Helens and the Colombia River Gorge are also worth a visit. As is the underground tour in Seattle.
Have a great time!0 -
OK, having received lots of great ideas, this is our final plan.
Seattle 3 nights (day visit to San Juan Islands/Whale watching on one of these days)
Drive to OR/WA border, stop at Mt St Helens on the way, stay 1 night around Vancouver,WA, area so we can spend a day exploring Columbia River Gorge driving east on OR side as far as about Hood River/The Dalles area & back on WA side, stay 1 night in St Helens, OR
Day in Astoria (Free Willy location spotting, for DD) and then head north, spending 1 night in South Bend.
Drive to Forks, stop at Hoh Rainforest on the way. 2 nights in Forks,( 1 day visiting Twilight locations
, for DD)
Drive to Port Angeles, ferry to Victoria
2 nights in Victoria,
Drive to Tofino, 4 nights in Tofino, whale & bear watching trips, kayaking/surfing/Native trip
Drive to Campbell River, 2 nights, whale watching trip
Drive to Nanaimo, ferry to Vancouver,
3 nights in Vancouver, on one of those days trip to Whistler
Cross back into USA, 2 nights in Anacortes area, one last whale watching trip on last full day
Drive back to Seattle for flight home (late afternoon/early evening)
21 nights all together
It's been so difficult to make a final decision, there is so much to do and only a finite amount of time to do it in, but because we're going in August we've been advised to book as much as possible in advance.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Hi! Hope that you have a great time. The pacific north west is delightful. Enjoy what you do and don't worry about what you can't fit in.
I feel slightly unpatriotic saying this (I'm married to a Canadian) but the US is cheaper than Canada for most things most of the time ... especially now when the CAD is so strong. So do stock up before you drive onto the ferry at Port Angeles.
Best wishes
