Ohh god not again. Should I get the bo11ocks button ready for the 5 pages of "NO MOT NO INSURANCE" from the uneducated?0

No mot as other threads have proven mean nothing.. insurers have been forced to pay out, if unroadworthlyness (is that a word lol) caused the accident then yeah they wont pay out.
As the link to the thread in my previous comment shows he was paid out even with no MOT after a small battle with the insurer..
NO MOT DOES NOT INVALIDATE THE INSURANCE
Im not talking about insurance
the OP seems to think that what they are describing proves something about intent and MOT
so since my car has never missed an MOT.I can now not bother and say oh it was an honest mistake guv as i never missed one before?
The OP posts as if her son has sainthood status through running a car and keeping a clean licence0 -
If there was an accident why are the police not charging him with not having a valid MOT?0

Depends if the Police attended the accident. If they didn't then no charge. No MOT is hardly a crime of the century - it's only a £60 fine and no points - especially as the vehicle may have been 100% roadworthy. The man without a signature.0 -
No MOT definatley = No Tax.
If you watch 'Police Interceptors' you will know that if you drive a vehicle without an MOT, then this automatically invalidates the Tax (unless you are taking the vehicle to a pre-booked MOT). Your insurance however, is un-affected.
To all those who think otherwise, what happens if, 6 months after buying your car, you decide to do a re-build during which time the MOT expires?. Motor vehicle insurance covers the vehicle whether nor not it is being driven or parked-up.
Personnaly I would avoid brokers like the plague and go direct to the insurers.
As for the salvage yard, don't forget to bill them for the parts + £60 p/h to cover fitting. They had a duty of care towards the car as it was not theirs to do anything with. So they had no rights to sell parts from it.Never Knowingly Understood.

Would you have been happier if they had told you this without investigating the circumstances?0 -

Eh? You sure? Sometimes the Police themselves don't know the rules and regulations. I would be very surprised if an officer said that no mot invalidates your tax. If you have tax, you have tax - end of - with or without a MOT. No MOT is purely an offence on it's own.The man without a signature.0 -
