Capital One - payment plan review

Dear All,
I have been on a payment arrangement with capital one since January 2009. I have received my payment review letter asking me to confirm my outgoings/income and what I can afford to pay.
I currently pay £100 and this is all I can still afford to pay, unfortunately not in a position to up it.
At the bottom of the letter it says:
Alternatively we may be able to settle your account for a one off payment of less than the full oustanding balance (currently £6547.07 was over £8500.00). Please contact tel no to discuss.
Has anyone had experience of doing this with Cap One? 2 months ago I sent a letter offering a F & F and they declined me, I offered 50% of balance due which is probably why so now confused they are offering me the option.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
