Any chance of seeing a different doctor at the same practice and getting them to refer you ?

It's not that she specifically won't refer me. It's that there is no connective tissue clinic in my PCT, and my PCT are very twitchy and uptight about referring out-of-area, and she won't push for it. I'm thinking maybe having this confirmation will help with that.

She said it's not set up yet? I did tell her about that, but she said it'll be a few months before they're really up and running properly, so she wants to wait to refer me to that, and isn't sure it actually will work (experience and all. I don't know :P).

Ah! That's great :D I shall do that, then, now that I know it's up and running. Thanks!

  • I was reading this thread and someone said it wasn't GP but chiropodist who referred her to UCLH so if I don't get referred by my GP I may still have someone else who could, providing that a chiropodist is knowledgeable, refer me :D Just an idea.

    A question please.....

What's hypermobile about John Lennon and Marilyn Monroe?
The pictures are on the last page http://www.reumatologia-dr-bravo.cl/para%20medicos/HIPERLAXITUD/Microsoft%20PowerPoint%20-%20Hypermobility%20Study%20Group,%202008.pdf

Surely, anyone can do that easily!?

And this thread talk about squishy ears :D I too can bring top of my ear forward (towards my face direction) and squish flat but surely ears are soft....NOT???? This is funny because I can squish top of my ear to the bottom :D:D

Hannah, no, bending your wrist in the way Marilyn's doing in that picture? Not normal. Or so my doctor tells me - and I can do it and my (non-hypermobile) sister can't, so I would believe that. As for Lennon, you're not supposed to be able to bend your foot that far up towards your head, either. *g*

  • Thanks Trialia. It's because I can do it I didn't know why it was not normal. I knew I was not normal :p

This discovery about hypermobility is making me giggle....childhood memory etc

*laughs* No worries. I can do both, along with bending my knees and elbows backwards. Do your knees go flat on top when you brace yourself? 'Cause that's not 'normal' either. *G*
