Childcare grant concern

Hi, I apologise for starting yet another finance related thread but I have yet another issue:o
When I originally applied for the childcare grant, I put down a couple of after school hours for my son as well as what I needed for my two little ones. However, I no longer need these hours for my son. I rang SFE and told them this, and I was told to fill in a new CCG1 form, omitting my son. The adviser said they are processing those forms within 4 days so it should be adjusted in time, but if not they will just pay the rest of the finance without the CCG when I start my course, and pay the CCG at a later date. Is this correct? I sent the new form last Thursday by recorded delivery, and my course starts on Friday (although my first payment date for finance is Monday the 20th ).

This may not answer you question but, I often over estimate what I need in terms of childcare on my CCG1 form as my timetable is never finalised until I actually start uni, so therefore I get over paid. What I do is keep my childcare money in a separate account, use what I need and then at the end of the term (or when I do the CCG2 to confirm my payments) they reassess what I need and pay back what I didn't need (or they take it off the next terms payment if that makes sense) so I shouldn't worry too much if you get more then you need.

Thats what I thought I could do originally, put the money that would have been for my son to one side and then get less next time after filling in the CCG2, but they said I had to apply again'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans'-John Lennon

Well, it seems the man was right, they have processed the new form already and the new notification letter is online. I know I won't get it before Friday as it takes about 10 days to get letters I have noticed. I am wondering if I can take a print out with me or should I just take the last notification letter I got sent?'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans'-John Lennon
