Who is waiting for Lapland bargains?

Just wondered how many people are waiting for the reduced rate to Lapland. I am sat here already, finger stuck to my keyboard, lol.

Bad news we can`t take our darlings out of school this year! GGrr:mad:
I would cancel GCSE`s ( just kiding of course).

The question is can I get a bargain over Easter holiday?

Any body been that time? and what it was like?

  • yep, I have been at easter, not the best time to go as all the roads are snowplowed and there are piles of dirty wet snow all piled up and then during the day the snow starts to melt leaving the roads and paths wet which then freeze at night, the next day the roads/paths are lethal to walk on - also that sun not setting to at least 11pm is not that magical and it is also not all that cold, we went there in the second week of april a few years back and I would not go back that time of year, not unless it was to saariselka which possibly could not suffer so much from melting snow - I also don't think you will get a bargain either - I would suggest that you go in the feb half term instead but you will pay full price for it though, I would have thought that you would have more luck getting christmas week cheap over any other school holiday - they had them christmas just gone and I think it was about oct time that they came out, you will have to check all the time though as once they are up they can sell out, keep looking on inghams and lastmin

let me know if you get anything for christmas will you
  • just checked back through the massive lapland thread that is floating around and christmas week came on last min around the 27th sep so start looking around then for the deal
  • Thanks for that info about easter. I was hoping it would still be could. Cristmas is ok , but I`ve heard that can be very could for skiing.
I will let you know, I should be watching it.
    Are you going this year?
  • it can be cols any time of the winter and the first time we went was a tchreistmas and the coldest it got was about -10 but then when we went the following christmas/new year we had 3 day where it was -27 so there is no rhythm to the temps but also, that temp was only in the village, away from the lake it was only -17

we are not going to go this year but I could be tempted if a deal came up, we are going to france to ski in Feb but not the alps this year, we are going to the mont dore area which I think will be amazing
  • Unfortunately, bargains during school hols are very rare...prices can & do increase closer to departure.
  • they had christmas week last year and it was heavily discounted from the book price and the year before we met a lady who got a deal for christmas week too so for lapland I think that there are often deals in the christmas hols
  • We would love to take our 5 year old to visit santa
Where can the best deals be had

We would prefer to stop 3 nights to make the trip worthwhile
