I just reboot my router does this mean that is lost all the changes and settings? Its a D-link DSL 2640R. I typed 192.168.1.1 and clicked reboot button. E.g will I lose my forwarded ports?

reboot just restarts it so far as im aware. RESET would have put everything back to default

  • Is it the same as turning the router off at the power for 30 seconds? Thats what i usually do when it isnt working. I didn't press restart.

A router wouln't be much use if it lost all its settings in the event of a mains failure.
If D-Link are the same as most routers, pressing the reset button momentarily reboots it, pressing the reset button for around 10 seconds forces a reset to its default factory settings.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
