Hello all
I dont think this is a rant as such............
I had an assessment day today for a job I relly wanted and after 5 group excercises, they sent half of us home saying we didnt have the right behaviours.
I guess I just need to get it off my chest as I am really disappointed and been upset all afternoon, Need to pull myself together before hubby comes home now! He also applied for a new job but didnt get it and on top of it all, his recliner is broken just in time for the Rangers and Man U game!
Arrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! :eek:

Oh, that is a shame, but try not to let it get you down - could you try and turn it into a positive by asking for more detailed feedback so that you can improve your chances for the next interview? Apart from anything, it shows initiative which may well stand you in good stead if another opportunity comes up, and at worst it will at least make it feel less like a personal rejection.0

I think I will do. It was a group thing and the other people there were much older and had more experience than me so they probably just didnt think I was ready for a management job.
Its just not a nice feeling

Remember, the only way you can guarantee never to fail is never to try.
Learn from it, get feedback, and next time it may be you who wins.0 -
And a plus is that if he's a Rangers supporter (spit,spit) he won't even notice your problems...:rotfl:
He's already got a lifetime of woe0 -
If it's any consolation, studies consistently show that the standard interview process is remarkably inefficient as a way of choosing the best candidate for the job, so the chances are that this setback is no reflection on your abilities or suitability for the job. It's really frustrating when you know you could do a job but don't get the chance, but if you can learn something from the experience then at least you've benefited from the process in some way. Having said that, the heart rules the head when it comes to this kind of thing, so perhaps a little commiseration with your OH will do the job to make you both feel better.0

Never let a job interview get you down, there were probably hundreds of applications, be proud you got short listed for an interview. I have had jobs turn me down for being "overqualified", I remember one interview where the manager threw my qualifications and certificates back at me and said "I am not interested in bits of paper". Which at the time, was all I had to go from.
As with the majority of "knock backs", we must learn to dust ourselves down, accept it was "their loss" and not yours, and apply for the next one, eventually that perfect job opportunity will open its doors for you.
Good Luck OP!!! :A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Thanks
I feel a bit better about it now, it was just quite harsh. I shall wait for feedback and see how it goes from there.0 -
