Is your LL aware that your bf is moving in?
Inform the LL and he should issue a new AST for which you both will be jointly and severally liable.

Interesting, does that mean a tenant has to seek the LL's permission before moving a partner in? What happens if the new partner would fail a credit check? Wouldn't the landlord then want the tenancy to be in the original tenants name? with maybe the new partner signing an agreement not to stay beyond the LL's welcome.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. if new tenant failed credit check, a guarantor would be required.0

I'd let you landlord know - I told my landlord that my partner was moving in (this was a few years ago now when we were together.).
Nothing at all changed with the tenancy, it was still all in my name.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
