Impartial Advice

Hi, I'm looking for someone to provide some tariff advice to a group of tenants who need assistance. I work for a housing association who has intalled a new electric heating system but as a landlord would not be in a position to make recommendations to our tenants however at the same time they do not have the capability to use the internet to search for the best tariffs available.
Does anyone know if there is a company that would provide a person who would be able to visit them, or complete a session with a group?
Any assistance greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
Ruth

It is simply not possible to have a 'one size fits all' solution for the best tariff. Especially with a new electric heating system with no history of consumption.
As a landlord (with a Housing association) surely you could go on a comparison website and get an indication of the best tariff using an estimated consumption figure. You could then produce a 'without prejudice' letter.
Or if you post the area, type of property and occupants, some of us on here will give our opinion. i.e. estimate consumption, costs(bearing in mind that the cheapest tariffs are on the internet which is unsuitable for your tenants) costs with or without paying by Direct Debit etc.
The collective thoughts of some of the regulars on this forum will be far better and unbiased than a company who could have a vested interest in pushing a company.
P.S.
Beware of any Private Message(PM) from people offering their services. There are firms(one in particular) that would see this as a Golden opportunity to push their very expensive gas and electricity.0 -

Many of the independent comparison sites also offer a telephone contact number.
Perhaps you could complie a list of them by vistiting each comparison site?
Also, some of the sites also also allow the MSE cashback deal if that is asked for, even if contact is via the telephone"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
There are private companies which offer internet, telephone advice etc, it may be worth a look as to whether any offer a face to face service if that's what you need. Consumer Focus would recognise those sites listed here under their "confidence code"

You should however bear in mind that these sites still take a commission / fee of some kind from those companies selling through them & may or may not offer all companies & deals / be totally impartial0
