As others correctly say there's an ATM fee which for me is $2 per transaction and a limit of $1,000 per day
Well... that's 2% off and $2 per transaction. Not far off the new NW Flexaccount regime (though not sure what the BBC rate is). I thought FairFX was better?0 -
If you are a Nationwide customer (like me) and you don't want to pay when you're abroad Caxtonfx are currently doing an offer where you get £5 when you sign up! Think it ends soon though so sign up quick. Their cards are free to use abroad just like nationwide used to be. Good exchanges rate too.0

Thanks Chuck. Maybe I will open up one of these and run it alongside my FairFX card next year just to see how they compare.
Additional info.
I just did some research re. their rates
CaxtonFX is 1.5810 - no ATM fee within EuroZone or USA, outside this there is a charge of 2.5% per transaction. Max $750 per day
FairFX is 1.5875 - add $2 ATM fee. Max $1000 per day
Quoted rate 1.60600 -
:jI use Kalixa, it offers a better rate than Fair FX and Caxton.
and as the money is held in £sterling, you can keep using the card here in the UK if you still have money on the card.
It only downside is that it does charge for ATM withdrawals, but i always withdraw large amounts, so that even with the ATM fee, i still save money coz the rate is so good.0 -
Interesting. But I just looked on their site to see what rates they offered....couldn't find it

Hi I tried to post the link to the Currency rates for Kalixa,
but it wont let me.
If you go on the fees page, then at the bottom is a link for the currency rates.
Just checked todays rates for Kalixa:
£1 = $1.58080
£1 = €1.174840 -

I just bought some dollars earlier this morning off FairFX, the rate I got was 1.5550 : 1, the official rate was 1.5830 - difference of 0.0765
How much are your ATM fees? Mine are $2 per transaction, as you I always pull out a large amount ($900)....so its not so important0
