British Gas forcing me to prepayment meter, can I stop it?

I don't think they will listen to your arguements against the meter. They've proven that you aren't able to make payments after they've given you a service, so they have no choice but to make you prepay for it, else they'd risk being owed even more money.

Just been giving it some thought, there is a possible way of avoiding to have a pre payment meter installed...you can set up a long standing payment facility, this would involve agreeing to pay a set amount each month for say 3 years, this would run in conjunction with a payment scheme to cover future bills ask them about it, if in the debt team they wont help.. ask to speak to Debt CLT if they wont help give me a PM i may have a better contact for u
