Platinum Fixed Energy Offer

Has anyone had a look at this offer from Scottish Power?
http://www.scottishpower-boilercare.co.uk/products/platinum-fixed.aspx
I've never had a fixed tariff before and I don't want to be scared into it by the threat of looming price rises.
Also since I've just bought my flat I would need to be looking at boiler cover anyway so it's nice that this is included in this offer.
Any thoughts? Has anyone signed up to it already?

Hi PurpleSkies,
Did you find out much about this? I've now been offered the same package and am unsure what to do...

I've not had any feedback from anyone who's on this tariff. Having had a look at the small print (there's a PDF on the SP website that you can download) the unit prices are a bit higher than the other fixed rate tariff but I think the boiler cover makes it worth while. I've not actually signed up yet but think I will at some point soon.
I hope you manage to find the info you need.0 -
Avoid like th eplague, it's about the dearest tariff in the market with a unit rate that will not change regardles of market fluctuations, uptil Jan 2014 - 3 years, can come off tariff at any time but £50 early termination fee if leaving it before Jan 2014, it's a good 15/20% dearer than the market place, based on recent increase, no one has put prices up by more than 9.8% on average, if you must fix, go for a shorter term deal like Fixed Saver with EDF Fixed Price 3 with EDF, Fix Online 9 with Eon, or even Price Fix 2012 with Npower, it's too long to fix your unit rate Platinum fix0
