Quick sale of BT Shares

I have 150 BT shares I wish to sell quickly and painlessly. Had them for years (no other shares) and want to sell them.
Any ideas where I can do this without having to open an account etc?
Thanks - Ian

Do you get a dividend each year? If so, who sends it to you?

I also have BT shares that have been in the family a number of years, and all comms I get come from Computershare - I think they may need to be your first point of contact.

Thanks googler -I should have said the shares are paper - not electronic.

BT's Registrar is Equiniti who I get all dividends from. Would they possibly offer a one-off sale service for the shares?

All I'm looking for is a one-off transaction - don't plan to buy shares again!

Mine are paper too - but I got the wrong registrar - Computershare handles some other shares, but yes - Equiniti is the one for BT.

I'd give them a call first.

Equiniti will sell them for you - there is a dealing charge (c. £30??) and you will need to send them the certificate(s).
  • You can do a one off transaction to sell your shares through Equiniti.
Charges are £30 by phone or £25 online.

ian912 - As has been said, provided you have the certificate, you can do it immediately online - the Equiniti share dealing website is -

  • Thanks very much, guys. I have Equiniti's phone number (freefone - yippee!) from the recent dividend paperwok. I'll ring them tomorrow and maybe just do a phone sale!
Thanks again everybody - very much obliged! Ian
