Can someone please let me know if you need to have all the paperwork, dates etc of any previous loans you've had before being able to reclaim this?

    Hi and welcome

If you have the account number then thats a start.

You can if you want to write a simple letter to request for a copy of your agreement by just giving them your acc number, enclose £1 cheque or postal order, request they send the agreement by 12-14 days.

Or another way is to request a Subject access request (SAR), they have 40 calendar days to comply and send all they still hold on your account, you enclose a payment of £10 cheque or postal order for this request, and there is a letter template for this pupose here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=1475553

Then to make a PPI reclaim, complete the FOS questionnaire (not to confuse this with the FOS complaints form), this questionnaire is in replacement of the first template letter of reclaiming, send to who set up and sold you the finance, remember to keep a copy in case you need to refer to it later on.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond, they sometimes request for more time, that is okay, so as long as you know where you are.

The FOS questionnaire you will find on link below further down the page as stage one.

If you want to write a cover letter to enclose you can do that as well if you want to, or do this as an option instead of the FOS questionnaire, its best to write in your own words:

Just ask they refund your PPI, plus interest.
Give your reasons of why your reclaiming.
Ask they give a decision by 8 weeks.
Then state if you do not receive a favourable response, you will consider making a complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) with evidence of your complaint.

    Good luck with this.:)
