Help please need new laptop urgently

My daughter wants to buy a new laptop and was recommended the Toshiba Satellite L500 but I think they're no longer available. There is the TOSHIBA Satellite L655D-12K which is more expensive - just wondering if anyone had any views on either of them? I've searched reviews on Google but can't find any for the L655D.

Also, anyone know the cheapest place to buy one? Again, I've had no luck in the searches. Prices are all coming up the same.

Thank you

You can buy the L655D-12K at Currys, Dixons or PC World. Just don't buy the extended warranty they offer as it can be bought cheaper elsewhere. All show it as "in stock".

You're right this particular model doesn't seem to be available anywhere else. There's a voucher offer at Currys which will save you £30. If you order it online Enter the discount code SALES6 - the voucher expires tomorrow.
  • Thank you both for that useful info. Much appreciated!

Out of interest, is it worth spending the extra on the L655D? I can't find any reviews for it and am wondering if it's a good model?

The L500 had very good reviews but I think it's an older model, though old these days is 6 months!

By the way, Knarff, the voucher at Curry's, does that apply to the L500 or the L655D?

    Many thanks

Shame. As an alternative there's this slight cheaper but much better value Toshiba the L650-12K. It has a Core i3 processor so will run nice and cool and is available via Amazon

scroll down to the bottom of the Amazon page to see the great Customer reviews it received.
