IVA not showing on credit report

We recently requested a copy of my Husbands credit report as we are trying to prepare for buying a house in approx 3 years time.

He is currently in an IVA which was started in December 2006, for some reason this is not showing on his credit report. Is this going to cause problems? He is on the insolvency register so I don't quite understand why Experian have no record of it.

Mine never appeared on Expeiran or Equifax, I moved house a number of times though, and it just seems never to have caught up with me. I have had no problems getting credit since - though sensibly, a very low limit Visa card and an Amex charge card that must be paid in full every month - and I only have these to get me out of a tight spot abroad if needed as I travel a lot for work.

My IP is fully aware that it's not there, and say it's not my responsibility to make sure it is marked. They will also not contact the reference agencies when it's completed, this is down to the creditors involved to do.

Essentially, we are the lucky one's, though in your case you have another couple of years for them to add it, fingers crossed that it stays off!
  • Just checked equifax and it's not on there either! The problem I now have is that there is a defaulted account from 2007 that my husband found out about after the IVA was started. He didn't realise that it had to be included so started paying it directly to the dca concerned. After a few months he mentioned it to the IVA people and they arranged for it to be included in his IVA.

Can I still arrange for this default date to be changed to the IVA start date even though it wasn't initially included?
  • If it's been included in the IVA then they should show it as satisfied at the same time, I would expect this means that the default date would move back to the IVA start, but you'd need to ask someone cleverer than me to be sure. The IP is probably the most useful person.
