Thanks everyone for your responses. LilacPixie - you have it right about the cars, I dont see why we should have to sell one of mine or my partners car just because a neighbours keeps parking in our space, we did have a look at several properties but chose the one we're in now because it had two parking spaces. When you live in the middle of nowhere, its just not feasible having one car for two adults - maybe in a city but not where we live. Plus the fact that our rent was slightly higher than a neighbouring property simply because it had two rather than one parking spaces allocated to it.
I think I'll have a chat with our immediate neighbour - I'm pretty sure its not his car so by talking to him I shouldn't risk offending anyone. I'm not keen on putting notes on peoples windscreens, I've had that done to me before and I know its not very nice, even when written in the nicest of tones.0 -
Has the landlord said you can use both these parking spaces? Even though he is the rightful owner of both of them, unless he has told you you can use them both, or it's in your tenancy agreement, it is possible he's allowing someone to use that parking space. I think you should first ask your landlord before complaining to the person who is leaving their car there.0
