Vendor has taken house off market

Hi,
I'm certainly not complaining, this is great news for us as buyers - we had an offer accepted on a house last week and the sellers took it off the market immediately. We even received a letter from the agent stating that their 'client had requested that they discontinue active marketing of the property'. We didn't ask them to take it off the Market when we put in the offer.
Purely out of interest, why would a seller do this? We were expecting the vendors to take it off the Market after the survey and were very surprised to receive the letter. I can't see what they'd gain from doing this, but I'm certainly pretty happy about it

Maybe they want a break from viewings so willing to see how things progress with the offer they have received.
Our buyer did request we did this when making 2nd offer but I was more than happy too do so as I welcomed not having to show anyone round for a while.0 -
they probably know what you're going through0

TBH when an offer is accepted you should ask for the house to be taken off the market to remove any doubt.0

Good luck.
Why should they think about increasing their offer when it has been accepted?0 -
