no dial tone on phone

I am with TalkTalk for my broadband, line rental & calls & this afternoon my phone "beeped" once. The phone was then dead. When I call my home phone using my mobile I get a message "the number you have dialled is currently not receiving any calls". My broadband connection through the router is working well. I've tried to ring TT on their damned 0870 number with my mobile but hung on for so long I had to give up:mad:. Surely this couldn't be connected to a series of unsolicited calls I've received lately could it? Have had countless calls from a landline number & when I answer the phone either gets disconnected their end or someone asks to speak to "Mark", or "Jane" or asks to speak to someone who deals with advertising! I have recorded this number on www.whocallsme.com & other people have had similar problems with the same number. When I call this number there is never a reply. So, I am concerned after receiving two of these calls today that our phone has now gone dead. Coincidence?

Sounds like an issue with the line at the exchange-sorry but keep calling TalkTalk

I assume that you have tried another handset to confirm that the line has no dial tone?

I'd like to thank the people who replied. Yes, I AM trying desparately to get through to TalkTalk but my only means of doing is is with my PAYG mobile phone & that has gone down £7 this morning!! I have tried to connect to the TT forum but its not letting me register, saying they are experiencing technical difficulties with the site.Grrrr.

Does anyone have an email address for reporting a fault with the TT phone line? I have searched here & there & almost everywhere & am just going round in circles & all it gives me is this 0870 number.

I have checked the phone line with another phone. We have one corded phone in the home & two cordless with one base unit. Know one thing for sure, I will be leaving TT when all this is resolved.....whenever that may be. Please help with email for them if you can. thanks
