Somehow I think someone's had a bit too much Jesus juice tonight. The longer you rent the closer the landlord gets you to pay off his mortgage for him.

    What are you on about?

?? Most Landlords have interest-only mortgages: Why? Well only the interest paid is allowable against tax, which that nice chancellor of ours allows landlords to use to pay less tax.. They reason, no point paying off the capital just so one can pay more tax..

  • Well done nearlynew! I've seen some lovely reductions in Essex. £280k to £199k and another at £260k to £195k. They are both bungalows and not what I'm looking for but you're right there are some good deals about if you take your time and bargain hard. It's a buyers Market! Take advantage!

We're hoping to put our house on the market in the next month or two, hope we don't have to drop that much else we'll be stuffed - unless of course we can offer the same amount less on whatever we decide to buy (we're hoping to move to a cheaper area, get more for our money and a smaller mortgage). Don't want much do I???;)
