Hi,
Can somebody help me, please.
Does tuition fee grant and course grant affect housing benefit?
I'm an Open uni student.

    I didn't know you could get any grant assistance when on an OU course, it isn't a Bursary is it.

    I wouldn't think any tuition fee grant would affect your HB, but if the other grant you mention is for living expenses then it might, but I don't think it would have much effect, somebody with nore knowledge will be along, though I am sure I have heard that any extra income will only slightly reduce your entitlement, though the CAB will know more.

    Neither will affect HB as they are meant for study costs and not living expenses.

    I would inform HB, just to cover yourself, but it wont alter your award. :)

    The study costs grant is very small, around £250, and it's for study materials not living expenses. You might have to declare that I suppose.

    OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
