Whats the average monthly DD for a......

three bed detached house??
I am currently paying £85 a month to Scottish Power for my gas and electric which I thought was pretty steep. I have now changed to Atlantic but have received my final gas and electric bills from Scottish. They say I owe a further £194 for gas and £153 for electric. I am amazed as I was expecting some money back!! Does this seem high or am I being unrealistic?? We are an average family of 4 running normal day to day appliances. My electric meter was changed about 18 months ago to a digital type and I can't help wandering if they messed up between old and new readings. As for the gas heaven knows!! Thanks.
I say what I like, I like what I say!

Round about £60 a month for gas and electric, family of three living in the south east. With Atlantic.
  • Thanks Tom5, I'm pretty sure I wrote down the reading when the meter was changed so will try to dig that out. Can't believe we have used all that G + E!! Can I challenge them to produce the figures for what they say I owe??

They obviously should produce a bill detailing how much G & E you have used - with meter readings.

What did your last bill show for a debit? Normally you consume less than you pay for in the summer, and more in the winter.
