Luton Airport to Amersham

Hope that someone can help. What is the easiest and/or cheapest way to travel from Luton Airport to Amersham using public transport, please? We are 2 adults and 2 children (13 and 7) who will be travelling one weekend in November.

I usually use Transport Direct for this type of query.

It shows several possibilities...

NatEx coach 707 to Hemel Hempstead and Tiger Line bus T5 from there to Amersham.

Shuttle bus to Luton Airport Parkway Station then train to London changing to the Met line for Amersham at either West Hampstead/Finchley Road or St.Pancras/Kings Cross.

I would favour the bus, and it seems quickest, but it really depends on the times of day of travel.

With four people, a taxi might be competitive.
Get an Amersham one to pick you up rather than an airport cab.

Thank you very much for your help. We are coming across from Northern Ireland and don't know this part of England very well. We will be arriving about 9.30/10.00pm on a Friday and are still deciding whether to stay at airport, in London or go straight to Amersham.

At that time of night a taxi would only take just over half an hour to do the 25 miles to Amersham.

Any other way will see you in Amersham after midnight.
