If I purchase hosting that allows 3 different sites to be hosted, I assume you can have a wordpress on each?

    yes you can have 3 WordPress site if it allows you to add 3 domains.

    You will also need SQL Databases for each site too. Some hosting site do not offer this service so watch out.

    I thikn we can use single DB to use multiple wp site.

    It has 10 sql databases and up to 3 domains so I guess it will be fine
