Poor service from BT

I am having a terrible time with BT and want to ask for suggestions about what to do. I was persuaded to move my landline and broadband to SKY but when I discovered that they could not give me the price they promised I agreed to stay with BT. My original service for phone and broadband were with BT. My landline was with SKY for several days but my broadband never was.
I asked that my number remain the same but BT said that SKY would not agree so if I wanted to be with BT I would have to have a new phone number. So I agreed and it was done over a fortnight ago BUT nobody arranged to align the broadband with the new number! As a result I have no broadband they promised me a free dongle so I could used the internet while they sorted it out. The dongle has never arrived.
When I look at my account online I appear to have 2 numbers one for a landline (the new number) and one (the old number) for broadband. I am on the phone to them every day but so far to no avail.
I am able to use the internet via BTFon or Openzone if I unplug my hub and piggyback on a neighbours.

BT don't seem to delete old accounts. I can still get into two and I don't have any BT line any more.
Are you paying for Broadband? If so phone the BB support number and ask what is going on. If they can't provide any reasonable and guaranteed timescale for installing your ADSL then tell them (in writing as well) that you will be going elsewhere for your broadband.
Check http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php and see if O2 LLU is available to you. If not then you'll be stuch with resellers of BTw IPstream. Plusnet IDnet and Zen are all well regarded but not necessarily cheap.0 -

They have credited me for two weeks and say that they are looking into it. I just don't know why it has to take so long. Even if I was in a queue I would have thought they could have sorted in out with two weeks!0
