i need a remote locking key for a ford ka 2009

i have rang ford they want £220 for a remote locking key does any one one know any one else i found a local place to me called first time who quoted me £110 i said yes but when they have gone to order the blank key from ford ford wont sell it to them as they want people to go direct to ford
any ideas thanks

ps i have the 2nd ley but it is not the main key so its not remote just standard

A second hand key can be programmed to the car but it needs the car computer accessing to do it. Some auto locksmiths have the equipment but all Ford dealers will be able to do it but normally charge 1hr labour. Check out the price for 2 keys as with 2 you can program another yourself if you lose one.

Do you have the key number that came with the car? its a little black tag that should have been attached when the car was new. if so I can supply you a key all cut and just ready to be proggrammed if you are struggling to find one. then just get it programmed.

Molerat that way of programming fords ended a long time ago Im afraid they can either be cloned or programmed only now.

thanks i have rang the garage up from where the car was bought and they have given me a key code i did find a locksmith local but they have not got the software for a 2009 ka
just begrudge paying so much from ford
