MFI - advice pls

Options
Hi, apologies if this is wrong forum (not been on this one before!) but here goes - ordered a cooker from MFI on 21 June to be delivered on 19 July, which was fine. When we opened it (admittedly after the week where we were supposed to check it) and it was damaged. Called them up and they would send a new one, no problem. But it would take a month. This took us up till last week, when they phoned to say they didn't have one. After a few phone calls they agreed to deliver it today. Great. Opened it up tonight and again it is damaged. They offered £50 if we kept it (very expensive cooker with buckled legs and damage to the back - I don't think so) or re-order. The third cooker is due on 24th October.
The main problem being what do we do till then!!? One woman on the phone said we could use it till then but the other guy I spoke to said not and we wouldn't get a new one if it was used.
Now we don't have a spare cooker so what are we to do???
Has anyone had any experience with MFI? Don't want to risk using it in case we don't get a replacement but I don't want to go out spending money I can't spare on one to use in the mean time.
Sorry bout length of post, hope someone can help
Thanks

I wouldnt recommend using it - it would probably cause more hassle and problems if you used it - then they would probably turn round and say that its been used so they cant have it back - regardless of what their advisors said

  • I'd politely suggest that if you weren't able to use it, you'd have to eat out daily and send them the bills. Add that you have very expensive tastes. ;)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
