Raw Deal at Autoglass - What to do?

Took & left my Ford Ranger pick to get the rear hard top window replaced.
Background : the Rear Hardtop window is supplied as a complete Item with the Glass boneded into a frame from the factory. Autoglass has ordered this part from the UK distributor.
THis morning I was advised by Autoglass (as they were fitting the the new tailgate) that the tail gate was not Shinny Gloss Black and not colour coded. I advised then not to proceed and told them I needed to speak to my insurance. (Original one was metallic Blue with a spoiler and hi level brake light)
This afternoon I got a phone call from Autoglass saying "Vehicle wil be ready mid afternoon" and we managed to swap the spoiler over so you now have the high level brake light.......
Autoglass are saying "Well whe spoke to the distributor" and they only supply aftermarket Black ones with no Brake Light" only the dealer can supply a colour mactched one at inital purchase.
So :
1) Autoglass continued to work on my vehicle when I told them to STOP
2) They have now fitted a none colour matched Tailgate to the Vehicle and bolted on a my orginal Colour matched spoiler. Guess they would have had to drill the new tail gate "rewire" the hilevel brake light
3) They will be expecting me to pay my £75 Excess.
4) I haven't yet seen the vehicle but I suspect that I will be P***** off as this is not what I dropped off to them.
Where do I stand. Should this have been Like for Like replacement?

When I smashed up Freda's wagon, I let the insuarnce company deal with the matter. The Ford garage put it back together as new. the gray panel came unpainted from Ford and was done in the pain shop, matching the original colours.
one suggests that this should have happened in your case, i.e. a new part, with wiondow should be recieved and then painted to match your vehicle. perchanc ethis is what you are after.
Also, is this an accident repair, if so the insurer would deal with is aspect, leaving you with a courtesy car, that is if you have the insuranc eot cover it.0
