Barclaycard alledged debt by HFO services

I believed i had paid off my BC account in full way back in Mar 04. I have now received two letters from HFO, a debt collection company, I have told them that I am disputing the debt yet they have said that the interest on this debt will still be added. Question is: what course of action can I take as I believe that I had paid the debt off in full? I do not have a Final account settlement as it was 6 years ago.
Any good advise will be appreciated.

'phone Barclaycard straight away. There is no point in you protesting.

The sooner you talk to them, the better. Please don't be stroppy when you do or you will only be the loser!

Ask for their help and have as much history to hand as possible.
