  • Any idea if they will do this for pa-per-view matches?

No idea, also beware that the £3 is an introductory price, so who knows what they might bump it up to.

For me it will be a lifeline though as I dunno what network, if any, screens Champions League or La Liga games in Canada. :(
  • I have a digital satellite dish pointed at Astra 19.2 deg east and get a lot of german free-to-air satellite channels. One of those channels was showing the Barcelona-Bremen match last night and they often (always?) screen the Wednesday night Champions League matches too. There was a post for a ridiculously cheap digisat kit (receiver and dish/LNB for ~£50?) from Lidl recently so that could be a good investment because the germans seem to show a lot more live football, club and internationals, on their free-to-air channels. As a bonus, I get to practise my german!

    what speed is your broadband?
i've got 1.1 mps, just wondered how this compares with yours?
  • I have 8mb broadband at home so get a wonderful service. But to put it to the test I tried it on a 1mb connection at a friends and it works just as good. :)
  • Does it only let you sign up on match nights? I can't find any way to sign up or test my connection as suggested in the FAQ.

It worked on a 1mb connection? And it was good? Doesn't seem right to me. I would have thought that you would need at least 4mb to stream tv no? Anyway, for all those people who travel with their laptop they can now watch games anywhere in the world, with English commentary. Seems good to me.
  • Yep it worked grand on a 1mb connection. Obviously it would be better left alone on just the stream though.

GeoThermal: Dunno about that, I signed up on the day of the match, but it might let you buy a ticket beforehand? Not sure on that one chief.
