Here's a tip for you. If you don't have Sky and/or Sky Sports, you can buy the Champions League games and watch them live online.
http://streaming.skysports.com/ucl/public/homepage.aspx
For the first time tonight I bought the Barcelona match for £3. It starts live at 7:30pm, kick-off at 7:45pm.
You can also re-watch it as many times as you like after the match!
I figured out if I went to the pub to watch it tonight (as I don't have sky and those Chinese things are rubbish and always buffer out) that it would cost:
1. £2 to drive down and back.
2. £1.50 for a J20. Multiply that by 3 or so for the duration.
So for £3 i get a direct Sky Sports stream, I don't have to leave the house and the demo clip shows you how good the quality is. And it's in English and won't get blocked or buffer! (I hope!).
Trying it tonight for the first time, so lets see how it goes!

This looks interesting. Are they only going to do this for the Champions League or are there plans to do Premiership matches as well?FB :heartpuls Wiggly

Dunno, they did it for Ryder Cup though.
Just tested the link, it's all set to go. It's all DRM though, they send you a license and whatnot. It's easy though, just sign in and it's there.
Can't wait, I hope the stream is good. So far am getting a 600kbps stream and it's better than the 100kbps-ish I get off other 'free' IPTV services.
So far so good. Well worth the £3 methinks!0 -
It's just started. Off to watch now, inital report is WOW!
The pic quality is amazing, so is the audio!
VERY much worth the £3 and i'll take it any day over those chinese things!
Go try it!0 -

Not that bothered about any of the games tonight. I'll keep an eye open for the future though :beer:FB :heartpuls Wiggly

First half just ended (as a side note, we've been !!!!!!! appauling scuse language!).
Coverage has been flawless. Started at 7:30pm on the dot. It's gone to a card screen again now for half time so you don't get any pundit chat or tv ads.
Should come on again at 8:45pm.
The picture and sound quality is absolutely first class. Not a single buffer or stutter or any problems whatsoever.
So far (and as long as we win! lol) it's been very much worth £3. I'll be buying more Sky Sports stuff in the future. Totally recommend it.0 -
It's just come back on. They are discussing the first half highlights and talking about other games.
Excellent stuff still (aside from our performance!)0 -
Just an update. The coverage last night was exceptional.
No buffering, quality picture (very high quality actually) and audio. I can rewatch the match as often as I want too all I need do is login again.
There's no ad's and the service starts when it says it does. It said 7:30pm start and it honestly started as my computer clock ticked over to 7:30pm.
Don't often bother with PPV, but this is brilliant and i'm very satisfied with the service and quality of the product.
The best thing is, I think I should be able to buy the games still when I move to Canada as they accept a good few payment cards.
Well worth £3 of anyone's money and well worth anyone here giving it a shot if you have the slightest bit of interest.0 -
Any idea if they will do this for pa-per-view matches?0

Was waiting for that one!
No, I have nothing to do with Sky. I don't even have Sky at home!
Just very satisifed with the service, quite shocking really considering what a rip-off Sky actually is.
Yeah I think it will look great on a tv. I watched it on a TFT monitor and it was great.
Dunno if you would be able to put it ont he TV though as the DRM might restrict you. Worth a try though!0
