Switching from pre-pay to monthy direct debit

Hi, I have done the comparison and it seems I could save about £120 a year by switching my electricity from Scottish power manweb to Npower and at the same time from pre-pay card meter to mothly direct debit. What the sites don't tell you however is if there is a charge to change the meter from pre-pay to ordinary, does anyone know? Also I am only considering electricity because I signed up to British Gas capped 'till 2010 and will be charged if I swap (unless you know different?). One last thing I think I remember reading that although Npower are cheap so is their customer service i.e. you get what you pay for, is this correct? Thanks in advance, CurryISforlife.

Some suppliers will do it for free, some charge and some simply will not do it. You would need to contact your potential new supplier to negotiate this before switching.0
