Recommend a cheap colour printer BEST for cheap refills. Print quality not important!

Hi all
I am looking for the following for my work:
A CHEAP colour printer, suitable for a small business. It is not important if it is Inkjet, Bubblejet, Laser etc
I know some people will say just look on Ebay or other sites and select the cheapest printer, but there are a couple of things I need to add.
This printer is being used at work to printer colour diagrams out. However, the print quality is NOT important, because the colour is only used to highlight blocks of large text. So, fine detail is not required. It will NEVER be used to print photos etc or anything that requires great detail.
The printer MUST be able to take cheap refills.
The printer we have now (Epsom stylus colour) is just dying, but has lasted us 7 years! During that time it has served us well but I suppose everything has a life span. We'll be sorry to see it go because it is remarkably simple.
The new printer must be VERY simple to use, as the person at work who prints these diagrams is a total technophobe.
I am aware of cheap printers, but:
Will they last a long time?
Are they basic and easy to use?
Will we be able to buy CHEAP refills for years to come?
Any ideas Peeps?

If print quality is not important then my suggestion would be to buy one of the cheaper printers from a major-brand manufacturer and then use cheap quality refills in it.
This should ensure that you get a reasonably robust printer that will last you a good time. I've just bought 10 x 5-colour cartridges for my Epson printer for £11 - first prints from them look more than adequate, even at photo quality.
Most of the major companies sell their home printers at a subsidised price in order to make a big profit on their own-brand ink afterwards.
Alternatively, have a look at the current Kodak inkjet printer aimed at the consumer market that seems to have the cheapest cost per print (claiming something like 6p per A4 print, if memory serves me right).0 -
Thanks, but was hoping someone would suggest a particular model.0

look at the Kodak ad now featuring on the telly"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

It is slow though!Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.0 -

We have a Lexmark Pro905, which is a great printer, though our cost £299 with £100 refund after purchase.
Not cheap, but they do a cheaper one, that was in the local bestbuy for £150, tho only function missing is I believe the Fax and it has one, less paper compartment. The cheaper one I saw at bestbuy was the Pro805.
The screen is touch sensative and looks like an iPod/iPhone. Pimp, pimp.....

Black ink costs £4:88 for the XL cartridge, about 400 or 500 B/W copies.
Coloured ink costs £25:99 for the three colour cartridges, but not in the XL form.
I have had the cheap printers before but ink ended up costing a fortune, this printer is also good enough for business use, as that is why we bought it.0 -
I always buy Epson have done for 20+ years. Cheap cartridges for around £1-£2
I currently use a RX685 multi printer and get my inks from http://www.inkredible.co.uk/
I can get 4 full sets (6 per set) for £29.99 inc del and they last for ages
4 Full Sets - Epson Stylus Photo RX685 Ink Cartridges - Double Capacity - (Compatible)0 -
I have had Epsons and HP printers, always found you never got many pages from a cartridge, though I should probably use Cartridge World and get them refilled rather than just giving them to my Daughters school for recycling.
I do like my Lexmark, it was a decision between this or some of the Kodak models, I must admit that the touchscreen and stlying swayed my decision.
Had it 10 months now with nothing but praise for it.
You can even photocopy by putting your pages into a feeder on the top, like a proper full size photocopier.0 -
Ive got an all in one HP PSC1410 - and its worked fine for 4 years now, no probs. Prints colour, scans and copies. I get compatible ink from Choice stationery, cheap and work fine.
I guess this is probably the equivalent now on amazon:
HP Deskjet F4580 All-in-One Printer
RRP: £79.99 Price: £43.700 -
Get one that has external ink tank kits avaible for it. These are kits that have tanks you fit/stand outside the printer for each colour and pipes that feed plug in adapters. You can then buy ink by the half litre which is way cheaper than per cartridge.0
