Has anyone been able to update a 2nd gen itouch to the new os 4.1. I tried all day yesterday and it seemed to have a prob backing up and then doing the update. In the end I gave up. Did google the prob and it seemed to be a common prob.. Do I just leave it and wait for another update?

mine comes up as a 2nd gen, although I thought it was a 3rd gen, but mine took the update fine. although I did have quite a bit of space on the hard drive, perhaps temp remove some playlists etc and create some space.0

the 8GB and 16GB version only came as 1st and 2nd gen, The 2nd Gen will run the iOS3. The 3rd Gen touch was only 32GB and 64GB which had a faster processor etc. The 2nd gen touches are meant to have problems with running the iOS4 because it doesn't handle the multitasking very well.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

2nd gen supposed to update to iso4 but will live with the 3.1.3 os, until a fix comes along.. Seems to be a common prob tho.0
