car insurance question - what do I declare

Hello,

I'm thinking of buying a new car, but have come to realise I might be filling in insurance information incorrectly...anyone know enough to help me with the following?

1) I was driving a van in Oct 2008, and turned right and as I was doing so a car crashed into us from behind. It was not my van and I was not a named driver on the policy but was covered because it was comprehensive. The owner made a claim and it came back 50/50 liabillity (they couldn't prove I was indicating apparently) though I believe an accident management company that provided a replacement van may still be chasing the case.

2) Last tuesday a taxi drive drove into the back of my girlfriend's car when I was driving it. I'm a named driver with business insurance on the car, though it's not my policy. I submitted a claim and it's been handed over to another company as it's a definite no-faulter.

What I need to know is when I'm submitting insurance information online and all that for a quote do I need to put information about both incidents, even though they weren't my policy and on 1) I was not even a named driver? Some of the language used on these quote search sites (comparemthemarket, moneysupermarket) are different, some ask you list all accidents, and others ask you to list all claims...confusing for me as I've had two accidents but only claimed on 1!

Additionally, for incident 1) some quote search engines don't seem to allow me to add "joint fault"...do I just put "own fault" or "no fault"? It's kind of up for discussion that one really!

Would be a huge help for some advice on this, looks like it makes a difference of around £100 a year.
