...........St. James Park is a good place to go when the sun is shining.

Get some snacks from Fortnum & Mason's and have a picnic in the park.

Are there still pelicans there ? I remember them from when we were children (1960's !)

...and Camden market for an afternoon wandering - interesting clothes and other stalls and plenty of places to get food.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

if you use tesco clucard dont forget you can get tickets to shows and attraction, london eye, tower of london etc, plus restaurant vouchers too. earlier poster said the monument which id recommend on the way to thr tower, only about £4 to climb up inside the column and its worth it for the fantastic views of london and the thames, theres a tube station right out side!
  • I'd definitely recommend The Victoria and Albert Museum, particularly the Theatre section which is filled with costumes from T.V, plays and rock stars. Really amazing. Also you can't go wrong with a walk on Hampstead Heath to see the view, or here's a random recommendation - The School of Life on Monmouth Street near Kings Cross station. It's full of philosophical books and does half hour talks during the week about things like "How to Play" and "How to be Cool", it's really interesting. And obviously make sure you go see a play - Wicked would be my top tip, think it's on in the Victoria Apollo.

I know this isn't exactly for October, but if anyone's interested in something to do in November I just received an email off The Wine Show event in Kensington Olympia. It's two entry tickets for the Friday or Sunday (it's on through the weekend of 12th-14th November) for £24 if you enter WEB2. Think there's a £1.75 booking fee as well.

Does anyone else know of anything going on? There are some great tips here! :)
  • The saatchi gallery is definately worth a visit, the London eye. Camden is also really good for the markets. U can get printed t-shirts, jewellery, allsorts. It has great shoe shops. Very different to Oxford StreeT :)

i was just looking at tickets for wicked and on the theatre website it said the boxoffice opens at 10am and every day there are 25 stall tickets for £25 each!! limited to two per person but i think it was only for the matinee performance - suits me i'll put my two teens in and go off and do a bit of shopping in peace - and it'lll be cheaper :)
  • It's worth doing at least some of the most popular attractions in London like Madame Tussaud’s and Westminster Abbey but if it's sunny you can't beat a picnic in a park or by the river. I know it seems weird when there is so much to see and do but a little relaxtion from the frantic sightseeing can be bliss.
    Mmmm, doughnuts
