weekend trip from Manchester

Looking for some advice.
It's our 10 year anniversary in Nov and we've booked in the grandparents to look after the 3 kids, but have no idea where we want to go!
We've got from Friday 19th Nov am til Tues 23rd pm and ideally need to fly from Manchester.
Any suggestions? We loved Rome when we went a few years ago as we could chill, meander around the streets, eat nicely and look at things whilst not feeling like we had to do the tourist bits!
Looking forward to hearing some thoughts!
Thanks in advance

If it's a city break then I'd recommend Prague. It's the most beautiful place and is compact enough that you don't need to be getting transport. If you stay near the Old Town everything is walkable, though getting the tram up to the castle is a good idea. We walked down but it's quite steep to get up there! When we went, we did a Thursday to Sunday and it was plenty of time without us getting bored0

Don't really want to spend more than about £700 all in. Like the idea of some sun, but don't want to be flying hours to get somewhere (given that we can't fly til Fri morning, and have to be back by Tues night for bedtime duties with 3 kids).
Our problem has been flights. We thought about madrid - not too far, lots to see, but can just walk around too, but there are no direct flights from manchester!

Try the costa del sol area of spain, flying into Malaga. stay anywhere on the coast from Malaga to Fuengirola, anf you have the coastal train service that will take you to all the different resorts for about £2 return. A trip down to Gibraltar is also possible from anywhere on the coast.I used to be a Travel Agent Used to be a travel agent for 23 Years, but now out of the industry. However I will help with what i can.0

that's a nice idea -not been down there for years. (been doing the alicante side of spain recently).
Also, thinking maybe a uk holiday may be easier - no flights issues, but then no sun :eek:0
