Why is make-up twice the price?

I ended up doing my own. There was no way I was going to pay the prices I was being quoted when I could buy my own supply of high-quality products for that price (and carry on using them after the wedding). There are plenty of make-up tutorials on YouTube that you can watch if you don't wear the stuff too often.3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000

I did my own with a bit of help from my bridesmaid. I don't normally wear much so don't feel comfortable being plastered in industrial strength makeup! I did splash out on some foundation from Illamasqua who also make stage make up so it's good quality and lasts well, but is also light. Everything else was 'normal' makeup - lippy from Boots (Revlon Really Red which stayed put almost all day - only had to reapply once before the evening do!), bit of blusher from Superdrug (I'm very pale so don't need a lot), Urban Decay black eyeliner and a little grey and brown eyeshadow from Rimmel (I was going for a 1920s look so there was no need for elaborate eyes). We had a couple of practice runs before the big day and it was fine.
As Rosie75 said there are loads of makeup tutorials on Youtube so if you're not too confident they can give you some ideas.0 -
I work in Debenhams and know that the cosmetic girls do make up free of charge. Me and my best friend had ours done by the Clinique worker for her 21st birthday party. If the price is too expensive that you are looking at, going down to your local department store is maybe a good idea.0
