MP2 Player

I have a Pure Evoke 3 DAB radio which I use to record programmes to a SD card. The user manual says that the radio records files in MP2 format. Does anyone know where I can get a MP2 player which will take SD cards?
I know I can probably convert the MP2 files to MP3 using my pc, but I would prefer to buy a MP2 player.
Thanks for your help.

The only Mp3 players I know that take SD cards are the Cowon D2 and the Creative Zen - everything else is microSD.... I doubt whether they will play mp2 as it's not a common format.

Rockbox supposedly supports MP2 (source)
Rockbox has an unstable port to the Cowon D2. I reckon there's probably one more music player on their list that supports SD cards.
EDIT: If your DAB radio takes SD cards, then I think it will most definitely take microSD cards (or similar) in an SD card adapter. If you allow yourself music players that accept microSD cards then you are more likely to find a match. Possible match - Sandisk Sansa C240 supports Rockbox (I think)0 -

Thanks a lot. What about this one. Is it worth buying?

Thanks very much. I am not sure how Rockbox works. If I bought the Sandisk Sansa, would I just download the Rockbox software via a USB port and then would it play MP2 files?0 -
Not many mp3 players will play mp2 and even then you have to change filename .mp2 to .mp3.
Cant you record from internet?
Just found this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Roberts-SD1-SD-Card-Media-Player-/260652545193

MP2 is effectively a digital radio-only format and you will be very lucky indeed to find a player that will accept it. I vaguely recall Maplins doing one for a while but that was some time ago and I've no idea if they still do. Good luck in your hunt but I think you'll probably have to fall back on converting them to mp3's instead. If you do I'd recommend Super (very good multi-platform conversion tool). Its free and can be downloaded here. I have used it trouble free for several years. The link I've provided takes you direct to the download itself but if you go to the eRight website be careful not to click on the download links on all the pages for another conversion tool altogether.
[Edit] - simply changing the filename from xxx.mp2(or .mpa) to xxx.mp3 will not do the trick. You will probably need to convert the file rather than simply change its file type as although they are both lossy formats it will depend on whether your (probably) reasonably new mp3 player retains the backwards compatibility for the earlier format and many will almost certainly not recognise the .mp2/.mpa extensions. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

Thanks, I mainly record to LBC (a London radio station) and Radio 4 and they are both available on the internet. So is it possible to set my computer to record programmes at a certain time on to an SD MMC card (or a micro SD card with a converter) via my computer?0 -
Thanks, that's brilliant. Going to buy it now.0 -
NOTE!! it doesn't fast foreward/rewind - might be missed on a 90 minute prog !0
