I've been with the clydesdale for ages, and never had any problems with my card being accepted - although there were problems when their new cards first came out.

Having said that, they aren't a 'best buy' bank account, it would be worth looking at Martin's banking articles to see if you can find an account that pays you more - eg bank of scotland/halifax pays £5 per month if you pay in £1,000.

I wouldn't consider the Clydesdale Bank. The one in our town doesn't open on a Saturday and doesn't have a late night. No use when you work 35 miles away from home.

A few plus points for Clydesdale Bank -

They have excellent Post Office access (which they don't advertise) - deposit cash with your bank card and it is applied instantly / also get envelopes for cheques deposits.

They also have good ATM withdrawal limits - £350 with Maestro / £500 with Mastercard Debit.

Their savings accounts -with cards - are actually Maestro/ Cashpoint cards.

It's very similar to the Yorkshire bank version - a pic was posted in the basic back account thread here.

The MasterCard Debit is here - also borrowed from another thread.
