Been conned help

I signed up today to what has turned out to be a con company. I paid £2000 on my egg credit card and now realised I have been conned.

I have now cancelled my credit card in the hope I can stop the payment. What can i do to get my money back what are my rights etc?

Any help appreciated.

A little more detail would help.. Did they take the money from you straight away? what make you think this is a con company? have you asked EGG to get your money back?

Face to face, or over the phone, or in your house, or their office?

no they wrote my details down, so I am not sure if the payment has gone through yet. I googled them and found verious posts about them being a con company, can never get hold of them, use to trade under a diffrent name etc.

I rang egg but they were useless,so will ring up in business hours tomorow so I canclled the card hoping they won't take payment until tomorrow. Am I covered by using the CC to get my money back.

Contact egg and request a section 75 refund if anything does go through. They will be legally obligated to process this request.

will thit?at get me my money back will it work for me that I have acted so quickly? Will i be able to claim I want to cancel the agreement and becasue I have doen this so quickly the scam compnay will have to accept

Doesnt really matter, the CC company are jointly and severably liable for any transactions so just say its a scam and they will have to give you your money back.

not true. only if there has been some sort of breach of contract or misrep. it isn't clear from the facts given whether this is the case here.

ok so yeh i perhaps said when they dont deliver what they said...... to be fair ive managed to make an s75 claim (helping a family member) after seeing bad reviews. So what i said is quite possible.
