What's wrong with the one you're using?!!

For an i5 series system it seems to be better than average value.
I personally would like to see Windows 7 Pro and above (for the XP mode option), but otherwise it seems OK.
I have no experience of Medion products, but they seem to aim their products at the lower end of the market (not necessarily a bad thing I hasten to add). The i-series processors still attract a premium, but they will provide some future-proofing (as much as you can get with PCs!).
You could fine-tune your proposed system for its intended use, but as it stands it seems to be a perfectly fine system. If gaming is your thing you would need to look at specifying a better graphics card.0 -
Nothing special- why use i5 cpu? Only one pci slot , I know only 2 on most boards... Low end graphics ....
What do you want to do with it? Maybe a budget system will do or even your current setup.0 -
Recent threads on here have been pointing towards markedly more powerful machines for around £420-480, you are much better off looking elsewhere0

Seems like a fair system for that price:
Good processor, dedicated ati graphics, 4 gigs of DDR3, 1TB HDD.
I don't know the manufacturer, so can't comment there.
It looks good to me,and the i5 processor should keep up with any home use applications easily.
As for XP mode, outside industrial applications I never really understood the point of it.0 -
Tesco do a slighly lower power Medion core i3 for £200 less - I was thinking about getting that one with an improved graphics card which would still be a £50-£100 saving on the Dixons one above. Just wondering if there any opinions on Medion PCs??£5k+ since Jul 2008.0

I don't really have any industrial applications that I run from home Russel

However I do have a scanner and some other software that will not run under Windows 7 natively. Installing XP mode allows me to run these applications as if they were part of Windows 7 (their shortcuts appear in the Win7 start menu so it's not like your usual virtual PC).0
