barclay card HELP

hi im with a debt managment company and one of my debts is barclay card my debt managment pay them every month i checked my bank account saturday and i have seen that barclay card have taken a payment out i did not say they could take the money from my bank account i dont no wot to do i thouht if you were on a debt managment plan they couldnt do this someone plz help because they took over £200 out withiut my permission

im with barclays bank and it just said debit: barclayscard £246.75 im so upset cos i have got my bills comin out soon i never gave them permission to take no money out i have been payin my debt managment company every month to pay my creditors

Can you close your account and open a new one with a different bank so that BarclayCard don't have the details?

Creditors have a right to offset which means that as B/C are part of Barclays, then they can help themselves.

Your dmp company should have advised you to open a new account not connected with any of your creditors so that this doesn't happen.

Not sure you will be able to get anything back I'm afraid but it may be worth speaking with B/C and appealing to their better nature and see what happens.

And furthermore, you shouldn't be paying a dmp company when CCCS and Payplan will do it for free.

that is wot i have been doin all day i foned hsbc they turned me down i have foned natwest and they are gonna fone me bck tomorra cos there computers were playin up and i have tried nationwide and there computers were playin up as well i dont really no the best bank to go to and who will let me open a basic account with them

I opened one with Natwest any my credit is shot as I'm also on a dmp.

Co-op may be another one to try for their cashminder account.

Who are debts with as you need to make sure which ever bank you open an account with they are not linked to any of your creditors to avoid the above happening.

Give CCCS or Payplan a call tomorrow and see if you can go on a non-fee paying dmp and therefore all your money goes to paying your debts and not lining their pockets. Clearly your current dmp company are not advising you properly if they didn't advise you to open another account.

hi thanx for all the help u guys gave me i spoke to barclay card again this mornin and i have ditched my dmp company cos they never had kept me informed with my barclaycard account as i found out from barclaycard i will no weds if i get my money bck and it is lookin very good i have foned all my creditors this afternoon and all have been very good and have excepeted my offer of payments to them all each month who needs debt managment companys when u can sort all out yourself :j

Lloyds Tsb cash account can be apply for online and comes with a proper visa debit card but you can only take money out from their cash machines.
