Funny icon on IE8 pages (circle, triange square)

I get a funny icon when trying to view certain webpages (eg where they have embedded flash content such as https://www.trustedreviews.com or friv.com)

I have uninstalled flash, java and reset IE8 to defaults.

seems to work fine in Chrome, but not IE8.

Any ideas as to what this could be?

I've seen this when browsing using my new windows 7 laptop. If it's the same, one option it has is to allow you to e mail the content directly to a contact rather than pasting the page address in an e mail

Another option could be the icon that appears when you use two fingers to tap the laptop trackpad. You can then use a single finger on the trackpad which allows you to auto scroll down/up/sideways. This is a similar feature to when you click the wheel on the mouse to auto scroll up/down (in word for example)

It is not an icon that appears to do something, but rather like the icons you get when there is a picture placeholder/ plugin missing
