Our rights with garage car repairs?

Hi
Our Car needed a new exhaust, so we went to get it MOT'd too. It failed on the exhaust and 'front velocity join gaiter insecurely mounted to it's housing'. We needed a new waterpump and timing belt anyway, so we went to formula one autocentres and got it all fixed, including the advisory items yesterday.
Everything seemed ok, we got a list of everything they replaced, everything was priced up and we have a recipt. (Partner didn't get any info on warranty, the div )
We took it for a drive today and after about 20 minutes we went over a speed bump and then this rattling kind of sound started. We have looked and we don't think it's the exhaust but the suspension near the rear right wheel. This has never caused a problem before, and I would of thought the MOT place would of flagged this up if it was an issue?
Do we have any rights to get them to admit they have done this? I really don't know if they could of, but it seems a bit fishy that it has just happened now and I thought the MOT would of flagged it up?
My partner is ringing them tomorrow so I just want to know what rights we have if they try and charge us to fix it when it could of been their fault.
I have looked on their website and can see they have a customer care helpline and an email so I was thinking the best thing to do if they try and make it difficult for us is to contact the company by email so we have proof of contacting them if we need to take it further? I might be jumping the gun a bit there but I like to think to worst so I can prepare for it!
Thanks for your help, and I hope this is in the right place!

Quick answer no.
But are you sure it is not a loose exhaust bracket? Or the exhaust coming off a rubber mounting?0 -
An mot only shows a vehicle is safe and road legal at that time, it could blow up pulling out of the car park and you would have no recourse against them for not showing it (unless of course they damaged it or you asked them to check it)Back by no demand whatsoever.0

Thats what I was thinking, MrCEO. Just wasn't sure.
My partner will take it in anyway and they can check, it sounds like the noise is near the wheel but I have no idea about cars! I guess if it is an exhaust problem the MOT place will not pass the car.
Thanks for the replies

An MOT is valid only for a period of 2 hours in the eyes of the law.
Mind you, if the EU have their way, we will only need to MOT our cars every 2 years, so, just like France, our roads will be full of dangerous old sheds.
OP, sounds like you could have broken the coil spring. These are about £100 per side to replace.Never Knowingly Understood.
