Carer's Allowance

My partern has claimed CA for me. However the letter that came through says it will not be paid til next month. As my partner has just come off JSA they need to await confirmation from the local jobcentre.
I will assume the CA will be backdated to when the claim was made?

What kind of JSA was being paid? If it was JSA(C) then Carers Allowance wont be paid for the same period as JSA is paid for but there will be an underlying entitlement meaning the Carers Premium is payable.
JSA(C) and CA are overlapping benefits meaning that only the higher one gets paid.0 -
I started claiming Carers allowance in March and got it backdated 3 months (£800 cheque)
Did not realise both my parents claimed AA, since 2006 when I started caring since dad's stroke
I think it's the date you say when you claim0 -
it depends what you have been paid prior to CA and when its been paid upto.0
