Confused by new Direct Debit amount

Since NPower's call centre is closed I thought I might ask if anyone can help explain my new Direct Debit amount?
The D.D has been altered to £70 a month (a small decrease from last year) but at the end of the bill it says this:
"Based on the information we have, we estimate you will spend £692.29 (including VAT at 5%) on electricity and gas over the next 12 months."
Am I doing my sums wrong? £692.29/12 months = £57.69 a month - what am I missing?

Are you in credit or debit?0

debit by £27.15"a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0

Npower want you to be in credit in a year's time.
That's how they work. You should be grateful they haven't made your DD higher;).0 -
Don't npower give you back the DD discount at the end of the year? So you need to pay them more than 1/12 of the annual cost each month so they can give it back to you.0

(£692.25 + £105 + £27.15) / 12 = £68.700

thanks Kim, what's the £105 for?"a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0

so I'm paying for a discount?"a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0

'fraid so. You pay it to them each month, and at the end of the year they give it back to you. If you leave before the end of the 12 months they keep it.0
