Traded Endowment Policies (TEPS)

Does anyone have any experience of TEPS? The Royal Bank of Scotland have sent out warning letters to investors relating to TEPS bought through Integrity. Does anyone have any advice to offer around this?

Are you on about buying TEPS or a TEPS fund or selling?
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.
  • Hi - My parents invested a lot of their savings in buying a TEPS portfolio from Integrity via their (trusted) IFA. My mam has now received a letter from the Royal Bank of Scotland expressing concern of a possible shortfall and saying my mam may need to reduce her loan balance. They say the revised loan balance is higher than the current surrender values/net security values of her remaining policies. My father died last year and so my mam is now extremely worried - plus the IFA has not got back to her yet. Any advice on what she needs to do?? Thanks!

I bought some TEPs and was very disappointed by the returns.

Without details it is difficult to comment but I would suggest there is little your mam can do, other than sell at a loss or hold and hope.
