Am in new flat so don't know yet if BT line existing or if one needs to be installed. If it does then costs about £75 according to BT site - YOUCH!
Do any of the other line providers do this cheaper or is there a way to persuade BT to do it cheaper? If I am only in this flat for a year then it works out another £6/month - not much to some but am trying to keep phone bill down to minimum and this adds about another 50% just to get connected. (I propose to use the Onetel offer with 18666.)
Much appreciated - Urk.

If the building is brand new and there has never been an exchange line installed there, then the £75 charge will apply.
Bt have to allow you to route your calls via other operators should you choose to do so and doing so will save you a lot. Other service providers do not have to allow you to do this. But other service providers might install a line at a less charge, ie Sky might install for free of you take a TV package for a year.0
